Furthermore, they rust in time. Also, an eye-catching by
the road transport department, that is if they do manage to catch you.
Ive had a few Sparco's and Cusco's throughout the years and they do
fade out especially under the hot sun and monsoon rain.

Aerocatch is the latest gadget in the quick-release and safety-lock
category. They are bloody light and strong. They dont fade. They
are black to suit your Carbon Fibre or Kevlar hood/boot. They are
hideous to the RTD officers. My recommendation for serious drivers
when it comes to safety locks and long-term investment.

Original WANGAN Emblem

I had this emblem since year 2001. It's been 6 years. Bought it 2 sets, one
for the car exterior(big) and the other for the ECU(small). Gave the
ECU emblem to one of my lady friend. Wangan has nice accessories besides
Subaru engine parts.

This one has never been used. You hafta peel the sticker off and stick on the
boot or on your passenger's side dash. A true collector's item.

Wangan = Wan-An. By pronounciation it means "Mid Night". By
direct character translation means "Coastal Bay". Good choice
for a team name :)

Its not-for-sale, but if the price is right, why not.

Worn Out

My SPOON SPORTS reservoir tank caps are worn out. Another
round of tumble-dry it'll be as big as my head. I don't like Ralliart
as their black and has the no-sho look. Mugen looks good and bright
furthermore it has a smaller tip that locks the reservoirs.

SIC Drag Battle Round 2 (20th May 2006)

It was Saturday and it was the day ive been waiting for. Dang!
This year was my 1st time putting myself into the gauntlet.
It's like putting my rat's ass inside a snake dungeon. I was
ready, the mind has been set, the car was ready. Game was ON.
The anticipation was something to talk about than the mods on
my car. The feeling was just so thrilling eventhough it was legal.
Weather was damn good and humidity is high as usual.

I came early, scrutineered my car by the JPJ chaps. According to
them brakeless rear spindles are not allowed the next round. I
was hoping to have some early free-runs but they postponed it
after briefing. Briefing was at 9pm. Free-running at 9:30pm. It
was packed at the grandstand. Every legal and illegal beast i
could think of was there that night. I could feel my head on the
slaughtering board.

There wasnt any time-clocking that night due to machine fault.
I went in to crack my own time. Dang!

I was running with normal fuel, normal street tyres and did not
do shit with my mods even for the battle. I came alone. Paid
RM180.00 for the entrance fee with 3 passes including mine.
I gave Zuhailee 1 pass and he became my cameraman as i
dun have time to go around.

Gabrial and Daniel was there to participate in the event. My ass
got whooped on the 3rd run with the fastest N/A in Asia, Vaz-Maz
3-rotor Savannah.

I could see so many Hooiser tyres, so many new mods and new
fighters coming up. They get faster and faster i noticed as they
enter the battle. Vtec-Turbos, mad Nissans and also ladies, ahem.
By the way and no, Aloysius Wee did not manage to prepare in time.

I was happy with my car setup tho i had bad traction all the rounds.
It ended around 2am and i was aching tired.

I hope i see more people participating, as i see many ppl can
talk and talk and talk but at the end of the day they'll
pop-up an excuse-o-meter. Bullshit Wankers!

Rollcage - Part 2

The rollcage is finally in my car now. I have not trimmed the carpet yet, maybe this weekend. I have wornout paddings on my a-pillar and b-pillar bars. The rest are bare steel. So far so good. I'll snap some pix soon.

Ha Ha. The good thing about this rim, when u loose your center hub
cap you can always replace it, unlike SSR Type-X.

Rollcage - Part 1

One fine morning, me and Jeff decided to do some roundings at the car wreckers. We don't have our favourite spots to go but we just having our regular shops and wreckers to visit.

Yeah, few nice oldschool rims, nice halfcuts, nice parts and also ridiculous prices which im very much awared about.

We found a nice Mitsubishi Mirage Mivec halfcut that came with few things. One of them is the complete 6-point rollcage. Without hesitance, i had a look, few scratches, black in colour, in-complete wornout paddings and complete nuts and bolts. No rusts or dents with few fading stickers (GAB, TEIN, SHINYA YAMAUCHI).

I had no complaints even if it was slightly dented (so far no dents) koz its hard to find for my car model unlike the Mitsu Evo3s or Honda Civics.

I kept the cage for 2 weeks. I went to Hizam's place to try to fit it on the floor like Lego to see if things were ok. It took us few minutes to assemble it. Wa-lah!. We thought it was that easy, NOT!.

With the steamy weather at that time, we tried to fix it in my car without bolting any ground screws. It took us at least 2 hour of sweat, pain from knocking on to bars and squeezing ourself in the car. Luckily Hizam is small sized guy. We managed to fit the a-pillar and b-pillar segment. The b-pillar was the key to everything and it was pain staking. I drove the car few days with the cage un-bolted to the floor and everythings looks good. It was tight fitting.

I was anxious to fit the c-pillar bars that goes to the rear wheel body. I wanted to send to a specialist but due to long waiting, we felt that it was time to DIY. I managed to buy a complete 10mm non-rust nuts, bolts and washers. The main guy incharged was another DIY friend, Zuhailee. Since he has experience in this, he should be the best guy. With proper tools and location, we managed to dismantle and bolt-in back everything within 2 hours.

We had to remove the carpet, seal the holes to prevent water and remove some paddings for better fitment. It was tiring as we dont have power tools to screw the nuts.

How To Buy 2nd Hand Goods?

I'm not gonna write and yap about a long old bitch

story on how to sell things but im more concern about

the dummy ways of buying 2nd hand car parts, not for

dummies sometimes, for the commoners.

Lately by observation, people will do anything to get a good bargain
especially around Asia and in Malaysia itself. If they have to suck a dick,
i bet they'll do it to get it free. It started around this region
and i hope it'll end in this region too for God sake. The power of
bargaining is good sometimes, but it also can be business-fatal.

(1) Condition

Pristine? Cleanable? Worn out? Faded? Torn? Broken?
It may be 1 day or 10 years, some things has been brought forward
and travel a million miles God knows where from till it reaches our hand.
By just looking with you naked eye and holding it, u can actually know
whats good and whats not. Condition is what most people hope for but

sometimes you cant have too much hope either. It is more to having

good luck there days. If its good condition, why not? Anything 50/50

condition is still usable.

(2) Replaceable

Some things are sold cheaply due to the fact its

wearing out and sometimes its already spoilt/broken/dead/etc

which few people will still buy and fix it at a cheaper overall cost.

Good things are always expensive like i always say but good things

do lasts, sometimes forever. Compare a Swatch watch with Rolex

watch. It doesnt take a rocket engineer to make comparison. The

shine and the quality shows itself definitely. Some people may

want to sell it cheap in a rush with other future commitment in mind,

some people would want to roll the money for business use. Cheap
things doesnt mean shitty, cheap things comes after (1) condition.

Cheap things may fall if your luck is good, not all the time tho.

(3) Prices

2nd parts should be reasonable. In such a way that it has to be at
least 20% off the original brand new price. It can be half-price or

even cheaper as per sales requirement. You can buy it off and with

a willing heart and understand that it is still not brand new which

sometimes out of warranty. The risk is always there and prices

determines your seriousness of buying parts.

(4) Bargaining

The art of bagaining is not like playing poker.

People do see from your body language, your pathetic aura when

it comes to buying things. It takes a whole lot of skills to cut a

good deal. Does not mean you wank or talk the same way the

chances is high, far out more likely. You know when a monkey

wants a banana, he aint joking anymore. So bargaining

power lies in the cash in your hands and full persuasion.

(5) Long Term Business

People do get carried away and think magic tricks
will work 10 times. Good things dont come easy, good things dont come
cheap and good things can also start disputes. In a way, every bargain
is a good sign for a next business deal. If you keep bragging, kneeling
and boast on comparison, your name would be in anyones blacklist book.

Morning-After

The relief feeling is nice after putting the stock intake manifold
and throttebody back into my engine. The response is just addictive.
I could have just run zig-zag like a rodent on the highway to enjoy the
responsive power. Who wouldnt?

My fuel consumption for now for 300km(boosting) or
350km(relax) is RM50. If you drive your car daily and long distance,
you're able to comment it at the end of the day. There is no such
thing as not trying to test your own bloody vehicle unless ure Richie Rich.

I'd prolly get my car fully tuned again and hopefully, God willings, to
enter the 2nd round Sepang Drag Battle this month. My only hope is
to go in with Gabriel, a friend with a strong heart, to enter this drag battle.
The rest i wouldnt give a damn koz probably they should join the country's
badminton team and dream of winning only and not losing. If they were
gladiators, they would have died long time ago, not because of the big sword
through the heart but due to the shrunken-anxiety-balls disease.

May month just entered, i hope its a good month for myself and
the rest of my comrades. Amen.

Modding Matters

Cheap no good, good no cheap
Sometimes when it comes to car modding we need some
common sense. I believe in many ways that we do things
necessarily with a budget in mind. Too many ppl has gone
into dilemmas when it comes to new and used parts. By all
means, new are always good, but new are not cheap either.
By saving up, at the end of the day, u'll get what u want. What
is with the rush nowadays? I believe ppl want to have the
best in everything but due to commitment and other spending
expenditure, they just cant. So i don't blame ppl buying 2nd
hand parts koz things are just too expensive nowadays.

DIY
The good thing about DIY is you learn how to do things yourself
provided you have the right tools and equipment. DIY can be
a pain sometimes when things go wrong but does not mean you
are a failure unless you don't have patience. DIY can be hazardous
if you do things not according to steps and plans. Sometimes its good
to leave simple matters to the expert as they do it quick and no
hassle to us. Learning is good if only you have patience.

Unlimited
What is the limit? Im very sure we all know what is the power limit
when the horizon gets too quick and road dashes into our eyes in a blink.
The idea of modding a car is to suit your likings. Whether it is fast or
furious, it is still your own money that you are spending. By the time
the amount of money spent and the power you make hops on the dyno,
it wont be reliable and comfort. Imagine riding a raging bull everyday instead
of a horse. "Either you kill it or it'll kill you, Mr. Matador".

Bodykit
What is so hard of copying tuner's bodykit? Im still hitting my head on
the Durian fruit on why ppl cant just copy and follow the painting
scheme. I respect the new ideas and colour method, but big tuners has spent
millions on R&D to make the best. What is so hard about copying? Just follow
the time trend of the chosen brand car and use back the kits and colour.
Why paint a Murcielago colour on a 1989 car? Idiot.

By the book
Things may not seems to be the way compared to what we read on the book
or by theoretical. Nothing compares to real life situation. A book is just a
guideline for us to follow the steps to avoid unnecessary steps in a certain
process. But if you dont try to do what's in the book either, you wouldnt know
the results either. Guessing games are meant for gamblers not car enthusiats.

Facts and figures
I seldom see ppl sharing ideas and mods setup nowadays. I cant
pull my head out of my ass on why ppl would not want to have a
friendly chat about mods. I can see many ppl talk about it but i do
not see them doing it. Either they are bullshitting or they drive 1000whp
monster that deserves to be confidential. If the Shaolin Temple can open
the highgates to show the world, i dont see why you need to be so secretive
in some puny pistons when you are not even racing. Some ppl think they
are always right. How can they be always right when all the infos are
based on what the heard or read and not personal experience? Mofo innit?.

Who is the winner?
A person that knows what he/she is talking about, a person that
mods accordingly, a person that shows results, a person that puts the
power to the ground, a person that rides the car more than having it in
the workshop, a person that does not think who to whoop the next day
by modding, a person that open heartedly shares ideas and concept, a
person that enjoys critisism to gain knowledge and a person that makes
ppl go "wow" all the time.

Local PU Mounts

I've recently swapped my engine mounts to PU. Just the
front and the back. Had to custom it since i don't have
intention to get the Cusco or Ralliart ones. Not that they
are no good, just that i don't plan to do things twice. So
i decided to get whats tough and necessary for my requirements.

Since the engine rocks front and back, so i decided to change
those two section. Indeed the feeling is totally different. Im
not sure what are the ratings compared to the branded ones,
but i know its hard. My dashboard rattles and during gear
shifts, the car just pops out like how i want it to be.

I bought the extra used mounts koz i dont wanna rush things
and decided to do it when im free.

I have no complains at all, to put the other 2 remaining sides
might come in handy. I'll think about it. It reminds me of
Dogg's Civic EK. He had Cuscos on all four sides.

This is not for some daily-use fun toy. And definitely
not for the girlfriends.

SARD Oil Catch Tank/Breather Tank

I was reading somewhere where i knew what was the real purpose
of the oil catch tank besides being nice-looking. So hell yeah, i had
to find one. Cusco and Greddy was too expensive for the budget.
SARD has a simple race-look that i could not resist.

With the help from my DIY friend, Hizam, we managed to fit it in
within an hour or so. The complexity is on the holder and the rest is easy.
Hizam supplied me his extra oil-catch tank holder and it was a perfect
fit.

I know its universal but the tube's hole were 9.5mm fat. So we had to
connect an adapter to my existing breather tube. Probably it was meant
for Skylines and Supras.

And no, its not a simple bolt-on as you need complete DIY tools and brains.
Im happy with the installation. The new toy looks good. Thanx to my DIY
buddy, Hizam and also my own brother for making this temptation happen.

Vs Results :
The results would be the same between the TopFuel
Vs the J's Racing, just that J's Racing comes in carbon
fibre drool-toy, light weight and more money.

My Bloody Opinion :
The resonating sound is not friendly to your neighbours
that is if your engine is high compression. The low throttle
response is good. If you want cold intake, get something
which is not steel or aluminium or anything fancy that
absorbs heat. Best if you move your battery to the back
to make passage way for the tube.

Quad Throttle Project - The End

I took out my quads last weekend and im back
with the standard intake manifold now. Not even
a year, the feeling and power is something unforgettable.

The time wasted and effort done was very satisfactory altho
it was a pocket rocket budget setup. No doubt it could have
been better, but that would take another RM10k to be able to
fully extract the power from the quads and other hidden budget.
I couldn't resist but i had to decomission this project due to the
recent fuel hike. My fuel was RM10 for 40km and driving long
distance daily is not healthy.

I wish they dont have to adjust the figure. I might put it back
again if i have a proper management like LT-10s Microtech and
if i have all the support from my peers that has been with me all
these while(those that are for real and not
blabbers). If not, id probably sell it.

All i can say, im gonna miss the roaring sound and also the
top-end power.

Product Evaluation : Cusco Hood Lock (Flat Top)

After hearing numerous stories of thieves being
meticulous about them pulling every wire possible
under the hood to complete the toy package, hood
pins are bad enough for owners already.

The Cusco Hood Lock are good enough at least.
Its stainless steel and it comes with a special random
hex key. If you lose the keys, you have to torch your
hood by all means.

Product Evaluation : Innovate Motorsport LM-1 Digital Air/Fuel Ratio Meter

I was recently given the chance and opportunity to setup,
to do trial and error plus to help tune using the LM-1.

With the help from my buddy Johnny, the car owner,
we managed to try this new product on his VR-4 Mitsubishi
engine. At first, it was quite a mess with the wirings since we
are no wiremen by profession. We did few on-road tuning to
setup up his fueling using the 1st gen blue screen Apex'i S-AFC.

I personally like this tool so much as it would be best for
personal usage without spending too much time and money
on the dyno. I have yet to discover more potential quality of
this toy if i was given a chance again.

I am not an expert or a graduate from any EMS school.
Although im an experience computer network engineer,
does not mean i can fool around with A/F ratio on a laptop.
My basic car engine knowledge has come from years of debates
and self-learning.
