Bob's New Carbon Fiber Front Lip

This is a J's Racing style carbon fiber lip. The original J's Racing would be a FRP version. I think it looks great with the lip if you decide to maintain the original Si-R bumper.

I think some of you must be boggled with the rear center reflector and think this piece does not exist at all. Honda made too many models for different countries. Let alone the parts comparison between LHD and RHD are just too long to talkabout.

"What happened to the classical original CR-X VTEC rear center reflector?". Bob collects any rare pieces available for the 2nd gen CR-X. At the moment he is quite bored with the Si-R wannabe trend. Too many people busy trying to cook and build their car like the original Si-R.

Saturday Shootout : Double Trouble

Kevin managed to popby that day. Once in a while if i see a nice clean white EK makes me want to paint white also. Haha.

I hope Hanafy will learn something from that particular SuperStreet issue, that is if he decides to read it like any other porn magazines.

Saturday Shootout : Izrin's Perodua Kelisa

I had problem snapping Izrin's car koz it was too shiny. Even we waited until sunset, i can still see my own reflection. The car looks good now compared to the original colour. The new tint match well with the colour.

Saturday Shootout : Hanafy's Honda Civic

Ive known Hanafy for few years now. If ive known him earlier and with a digital camera at that time, maybe we have few massive pages of his mods alone. From a strong natural aspirated(2.0L) to a turbocharged vtec(2.0L) and back to square one again, modest natural aspirated(1.6L) engine.

This JDM Honda Civic EG-8 has bits and pieces parts combination interior and exterior of the JDM Honda Civic EG-9 SiR. I dont think there is a need to complete the dream, what is most important now is being simple and clean. A few more distinctive emblems wont hurt the car.

Hanafy's Civic is powered by a mildly modded B16A engine. Koyo radiator, HKS Twin Power, Mugen 4-1 extractor, Toda flywheel and a few more toys under the hood.

As a passenger, i can feel my brain shaking as the car was stiffened by race engine mounts. The ride is definitely nice, a younger brother to my TEIN HA, which is the TEIN RA full coilovers absorbs the Malaysian pathetic roads.

When i look at Hanafy's car, it sometimes reminds me of Jeff's car. Something exteriorly needs to be upgraded. Just that little bit more.

I reckoned the car has a few more things to go if Hanafy decides to do his planning seriously. I think all the parts are just a call away.

Ive noticed the prices of EGs are awfully cheap now in the market. Cheaper than the EFs and DAs. If this is for keeps, then it should be different than the rest.

KK Trip : The DA6 Story

The only thing i havent got much during my KK trip was time. If i had more time i would prolly settle a few more handful things for my brother's car. With the extremely hot weather and traffic jams around, i wasnt in the mood to drive during the day time and getting stuck isnt a nice thing with a heavy clutch.

This trip was mostly about the SKUNK2 products installations. There was always a tiny fear at the back of my head on the what-ifs the products wouldnt fit and so on. I guessed taking risks werent something new for me. Furthermore, in Japan DA6 aftermarket parts are either obsolete or people werent interested in knowing them anymore.

After the wheel alignment and few days of settling down, the front now has dropped to 2 fingers from 3 fingers height. The ride feeling was nice. Not too hard. Not too soft. It would have been a mistake to fix a 8kg front/6kg rear combination. I cruised around, dragged few times and went into few tight corners, the butt feeling was good. There wasnt much body roll with this stiffer springs. When i dragged i noticed the rear didnt squat much compared to before.

I reckoned it would be harder with aftermarket short stroke absobers with the adjustable coilover kit. But then again, im not the owner. Heh.

Anything that keeps this JDM DA6 alive, we'll take it home.

KK Trip : Corrected Camber Settings & Alignment

After the linkage swap, i went to the wheel alignment centre straight away. They actually printed out the before and after sheet settings and looks like both front cambers has been corrected for good now. I believe from now on, both front tyres should wear out evenly.

KK Trip : The Bloody Bent

Another early morning appointment for me and this time i had to settle the linkage problem. As you can see obviously something wasnt right when i removed the whole console box and it looks like that the linkage seems to be "short" and forced towards the front making it looked like im in 3rd gear.

When my mechanic removed the current gear linkage, im surprised to see the comparison length for both linkages. It was from a DA6 model too. After looking carefully, it looks like the extension rod (also known as a "torque rod" or a "stabilizer rod"), was slightly bent.

Since we didnt have much time to use a blowtorch(we didnt have any at the workshop also) to heatup the bent and fix the problem, my mechanic swapped it with the spare piece. We didnt even plan to swap the extension rod alone as we want to be sure both rods came from the same car.

We suspected that the linkage must have been pressed or pulled hard with other halfcuts during the shipment process.

The linkage swap was quick and the gear change feeling was so good after so long.

KK Trip : SKUNK2 Composite Fuel Rail Installation

I wanted to install the rail tomorrow but knowing the fact to do this with a hot engine bay is just not a good idea. Since i have not started the car since last night, we might just continue with the installation and complete the SKUNK2 toys for today.

The installation was actually straight forward and it took 1 hour to complete the job. The only thing that we had to do was to shave off some of the top rail section that goes back to the FPR. I noticed the screw holes were higher than the fuel hole when installed with the FPR plate. Honestly, it was as thin as a paper but then again, since its fuel related, we dont wanna start a fire for free.

After the installation, i started the car, checked for leaks and everything was good to go.
