Meor's Dyno Run

Weather was good last weekend. So Meor decided to do a dyno run for his mildly modded Honda Civic. With minimal mods like air-filter system, FGK headers, Ultra plug cables, 2.3 exhaust system and a MINES ecu, he wanted to know his basic power figure. Dont mind the slight blurry pix as it was taken using a Dopod mobile phone.

Result was around the expected figure. 145whp is quite healthy for an old B16A engine. The good thing about doing dyno runs is to know that your engine is running smooth and safe in a controlled environment. You will never know if you start to run lean with dying fuel pump, clogged injectors, worn out piston rings, overfueling and etc. From here, Meor can proceed with further mods on his car with without having doubts. Wear and tear is part of the hobby as long you take note and not to grumble when the rainy day comes.

If you notice, the torque is not as great as a 1.8L or 2.0L. But then again, the fun is always there with a smaller displacement engine in combination with the high revving tendency.

At the end of the day, its always good to have a healthy car and driven daily, not kept at home unlike we know some. Haha.
