I reckoned ppl get mixed up between these definitions especially when it comes to rim painting. Its not just normal spraying whereby you can copy whatever that looks like in the magazine or internet. You may see some rims have anodize tip like SSR Type-X and powder-coating rims like Volks Racing TE-37.

So you are actually paying for the quality of the produced rims rather than just buying the rim for looks. The good thing is you can restore your oldschool rims and make wonders out of it.
