Tawau Drag : Lost Control

A near tragedy at Tawau motor race Tawau: The two-day Third Tawau Motor Club Sports (TMCS) carnival at the old airport here was nearly marred by tragedy Sunday when one of the racing cars taking part skidded and crashed into a Civil Defence Corp (JPA3) ambulance.
Fortunately the 32-year-old driver and four female personnel on duty in the ambulance escaped without critical injury in the 11am incident, which resulted in cancellation of the subsequent last three races.

The driver, Ung Heng Wha, sustained broken ribs following the impact of the incident while the four others - Sapardiana Garto, Norhayati Kassim, Aishah Anjung and Halija Ali - aged between 24 and 40 sustained minor injuries.

Ung was said to have lost control of the wheel as his Toyota was reaching the finishing line and crashed into the ambulance parked on the right grassy side of the track.

An organising committee member, Mohd Iqbal Haji Khalid, believed Ung would have managed to regain control of the car if he had stepped on the brake, instead of continue to accelerate.
District Police Chief ACP Haji Idris Jikon ordered a halt to the remaining three other races but the closing ceremony for the other events proceeded because there were winners.

Rural Development Assistant Minister Datuk Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan officiated the closing ceremony. District Police Traffic and Public Order Chief DSP Teh Cheng San said they are still investigating into the crash.

Distance Vs Friendship

I recently gotten to know and also bloody comprehend the meaning between "distance" and "friendship".

Distance : n 1: the property created by the space between two objects or points.
Friendship : n : the state of being friends.

I never thought ppl would actually be calculative when it comes in meeting best friends. Yeah hell yeah, last time i had friends that bring coins for supper (the best part when the purse opens, the coins dropped like golds from heaven..CHinG cHIng CHinG) and drives a bloody super sports car. "What the fuck?", i said. Oh yeah, oh yeah dun we all know who that is ay?

As for my past recollection, during my college days, there was this dude that carries a tiny mini-dying-grand-nanny zipper purse that u can only put less than 5 dollars of coins. Thats another big fucked up dude i have as a friend. Thrifty is cool, scrooge people should be blacklisted and be thrown into the volcanoes. Die you muthafucka!Die!

Back to the topic, yeah, since day 1 i know what are the VALUES of having good friendship and the QUALITY of having them. At the end of the day, good or bad, you still have your best friends around ya for you to tell your problems, have a weekend barbeque and help ya at 5am when u have a flat tyre OR even send you to your bloody own grave.

Im just crocodile pissed about "few" close friends that decided to blame DISTANCE and TOLL as factors of not having some good-ol gathering. I never thought of being calculative when meeting friends when it is NOT a burden to do so. You dont have to oblige to do so. Just say "Yes" or "No". "Busy" or "Free". Communicate and tell others. BUT, just dont badmouth and say bad about it. Its just bloody bad karma. Even monkeys swim, hunt and hangout together.

Anodizing VS Powder-Coating

I reckoned ppl get mixed up between these definitions especially when it comes to rim painting. Its not just normal spraying whereby you can copy whatever that looks like in the magazine or internet. You may see some rims have anodize tip like SSR Type-X and powder-coating rims like Volks Racing TE-37.

Sony VAIO + Carbon Fibre Chassis?

Sooner or later i have to get a bloody laptop. Been eyeing the VAIO for many years. Prices are still sick but so far it has gone down compared to few years back. Still expensive but what the heck!. Went to the ultimate computer zone of the world, Low Yatt Plaza. Everybody seems to say its the cheapest, well prolly in China its the cheapest. Intercoolers are made in China. HKS made 'em expensive. Haha.

So far ive eyed the White Platinum VAIO. Not bad. Until las few days i got to know the TX series had a Carbon Fibre Chassis. Wow! Dang!. It's small 1.25kg, 11.1 inches monitor and hell its cute. The price is something i dont wanna talk about now. Google it if you wanna know.

A few seconds of sorrow, i heard a yelling voice from the back, it was the sales supervisor saying, "heyyyy, we have size 12UK/13US". I know im a size 12US,13US,14US (depends on which country its been made even if its the same design by NIKE). I gave a try. Well hell yeah, it fits like a condom. Nice and smooth.

Im scared to ask the price as i know its a RM4XX.00 tag on it. Due to the sale, i get discounted and its RM270.00 with free rift socks(ninja tabi socks). Yay!. From a bloody RM450 and its RM270 now, i gotta be drunk if i dont get it plus its leather and it looks like Mike Tyson shoes.

Gotta spoil myself once awhile. Indeed retail therapy relaxes the mind. So this is my 2nd Rift shoe. The last version was the normal sport version(around RM240.00). This is the new leather version ive been eyeing for months.

When i 1st saw Rift 4 years ago, a buddy of mine wore it on track for his track sessions. Apparently i got hooked up badly since then. Ninja style shoes are cool. Theres some history about Air Rift and you can Google up.

MicroTech Training - 29th July 2006

Well, what can i say. My brain was saturated for a day. My ass was freezing inside the air-conditioned class and everyone was blurred and sleepy for a day. It was a bloody long week with my own personal agendas and clashing with this training that had to be done in this particular week.

All i can say the training was good(i got no bad comments tho). It was conducted by a Malaysian MicroTech Tuner(local chap trained in Australia). For once, i get to ask stupid questions and those puny queries that ive been waiting to ask for a bloody long time. The feedback was good and i can see myself excel after this i reckoned.

The group scale was small and we had our own files and folders. 2/3 of the day we spent in the class trying to learn about MicroTech overally. Everything from wire diagram to setting-ups and to tune using Microtech. The remaining of the day we had a SR20DET and a 4G-63T as our dyno guinea pigs. Honestly, by early evening we were dead tired. We tried to absorb what we can. I was hoping to meet many friends in this simple training so that i could share ideas with them but the turnout was pretty small.

Anyways, at the end of the day, im happy to attend such a good training. I was hoping for some hotel food catering(j/k) but then again im cool with the setup. I was there to gain as much knowledge and to learn about shites that i dunno and prolly shite that i couldnt afford like flying my ass to Sydney for a Motec training. At least this is something for a start. I hate reading and browing the internet all the time. I need some real shite that i just have to sit and listen for once.

So, the favourite question of all time, "can you be a tuner now?". Im not getting any younger tho. I have to start somewhere sooner or later. I need to get the LT10 series and wire my own bloody car and tune it myself. Hopefully with the help from Innovate, HKS knock monitor and prolly a cheap dyno session, i hope to achieve something for myself one fine day.

p.s. i believe every tuner has his/her own unique style of tuning and method. these little things are the shites u dun wanna ask as they have gain experiences for many years. if i could buy experiences from a supermarket, i'll buy heaps of jars of it. so what u wanna do is just do the things correctly and with limits. things wont blow for no reason. human errors are the causes of detonations. dont blame fuel and ignition, they dont have brains like us.

As For Now

The scene is still hot but not as hot like the olden days like few years back i mean. Now, everyone is driving a 150k-onwards vehicle that pounds hard rubber traction to the ground. What has grown inside us are just the peer influence. Nowdays seldom do i see people appreciating what they have, do and mod. Whatever it is, they dont seem to be happy. Well hell yeah, i wish i had a money tree, but to have that satisfaction is something hard to talk about. Only our heart knows better.

Car prices are getting sick expensive. Fuel aint gonna be cheaper than now. Traffic jams. No proper track/drag courses. Roadblock bullies by the authorities. Taxes on aftermarket parts. The car prices alone are killing us, not brand new but reconditioned. We seem to pay double than other ppl in the world, prolly there are less fortunate car owners in other countries, but i feel like we are in those kind of countries except we dont use snow tyres.

Why do we have racing clans and cliques? Its because of the fame and glamourous life being in a group. Feeling secure in such group are boastful and pathetic. People grow fast and when everyone starts to disperse, eventually everyone will start to talk about what they missed last time. They didnt miss anything, they just forgot to appreciate time and what they have.

How fast is fast? If AMS can build a 1000whp AWD monster, would u wanna drive something that runs on methanol and go to the wet-market just for a bag of brinjals and onions? Maybe i would.

Enough with my ramblings and bitching. Im tired. Sorry but i dont get PMT or PMS. Haha.

Fuel Mule *eeeee oooooooo eeeeeeeeee oooo*

Well, well, well, at last im done with my personal fuel testing. The low-fuel indicator was stuck on my gauge cluster at 464km, but i pushed it to 493km and refueled. I had to do it as im using some big-ass pressure fuel pump. So basically both fuel are the same in terms of kilometres in average. Don't have to be so kiasu about it, im using a semi-race engine and i tried to push for more kilometres. So both fuel are practically the same. If the difference are 50km at least, then i can actually comment on it. I dont know why ppl are still bad-mouthing about other fuel companies.

The only thing i noticed on SHELL fuel was it knocks during midnoon. I cant say that Malaysia weather has changed drastically in blink but yeah, my engine knocked. Maybe its a baby version of V-Power since V-Power knocks badly on my engine.

My other alternatives would be Caltex and ProJet. Fine with me.

Rare JDM : 5-Zigen N1R

When i saw it the first time, i just couldnt resist it. I know its one of those hard-to-get jade items that u have to buy to make you sleep peacefully at night. After some negotiation with my brother, looks like he's the lucky one to get this rim. Not cheap tho.

Well, i bought and kept it for few month already. Waiting for my brother to come and pick it up for his 'teg.

Rims are used condition. But somehow i doubt the long usage as it looks like it hasnt been running more than 1000km. Its 15"x6". PCD 100 and offset +38. The rims are bloody light even my sister had fun carrying it using one hand. Basically its pristine condition, lickable i would say.

This rim comes in either dark grey, blue or red. It was meant for the track cars. Good for cars that are painted white or black. Very JDM, very noice.

Stay away from Eibach Meet or any JDM Meets, its NOT good for your health and wallet, ha ha.

Building A Super Satria GTi?

Another young buddy of mine, Jason, very young at heart, blew few engines in the process of knowing what's right and wrong, finally set his mind and wanting to cross the line and seek the darkside.

Whatever in his engine bay has been modified, the car may look normal from the exterior and interior, but the money that has been spent is a lot. Growing in such an influential world is not easy for him. Building the impossible is his aim.

160whp? 180whp? 200whp? As for a friend, i want him to reach 180whp smoothly if possible. With the latest Microtech LT10s and a Australian-trained tuner, we hope to extract a nice impossible 200whp. God willings with strong heart and bit of cash, i think he can succeed.

Daily driven Super Satria Gti quad throttles with air-conditioned and good idle. Sounds good to me.

Young Tuners

Im glad to see my group of friends are pursuing to something serious for once, which is EMS tuning. After years of spending too much money on the cars, its high time we sit down, brainstorm and learn about how to tune the bloody car.

At the moment, Zuhaili and Chris are busy tuning Hondata S100/S200 on Chris over-powered Mugen-ised DC2. With the help from Innovate, tuning AFR is no longer a problem. They are also using the HKS Knock Monitor to help them hear any knocking sound using a headphone. Most of their tuning are being done on road and late nights.

I myself will be going for Microtech Training at the end of this month. I hope i can revive my sick ideas of playing quad throttles on a Honda or even my engine again. Zuhaili will be joining the class too.

Once Hondata releases S300J in Malaysia, i think it will be easier for everyone to tune with USB. I hope i can learn too.

Hopefully Zuhaili will go for the MOTEC training in Sydney Australia in the future.

SIC Drag Battle Round 3 - Mr. Aloysius Wee - CRX

I must say, this best friend of mine should be staying in America instead of Malaysia. His dreams of becoming a professional drag racer proves that his been spending too much money on EBay and American parts.

Been a friend of Aloysius for few years. His a man with dreams, less budget and sick ideas. I must say i have the same thought too but not going this ridiculous. The car weight alone is probably around 5XXkg. Tubed frame and with some ugly fibre body design. I hate to say this but he needs to paint the damn car to win in style for god sake.

WELD Racing wheels, Endyn AIR Carbon Fibre intake manifold, MOTEC 800, Simpson harness and shoes, SMSP headers, and blah blah blah. The delay in building this car is due to financial constraint and heaps of engine problems. Building an N/A car is not easy. He took 2.5 years to do it. I almost thought it was a UFO.

The car runs on rear hubs only and the power to weight ratio is mad. He did not fully full throttle the car yet but the result was impressive with a 11.682s on the quaters. Car ran twice before overheating problem on the head gasket.

I gave him 2 thumbs up before and after the race and hopefully we'll be seeing him next month on the strip with more SAFETY features and BETTER aerodyamic design. Hopefully 10.9s this time.

ps. He participated in Group B, which means 2WD Turbo Category.

Fuel Saving?

My latest result for Petronas Primax 3 :

Full Tank 40L/RM77.00 (i can pump to 42L but i dont wanna force it)
I got 470km. My average driving distance would be 100km a day
and average speed between 90-160km/h.

I had to pump at 470km when the "E" light pops consistenly.

I think for a 1.8 Mivec DOHC engine with Jun Type 2s, its good. I think with the latest price hike to get 400km is consider good shite.

My latest test would be the new SHELL fuel. I'll update the result
by end of the week.

(I dont get paid to do this but im just letting you guys know the real deal)

Both my idol teams went down perished. Spain and Portugal. Neither Torres nor Ronaldo can do anything about it. Its been a good world cup. Unpredictable yet counter-fighting. All i can say now, i will always remember Zidane as a bull and not a legend. Haha.

Headlight + Signal Upgrade

Actually i like the Wira/Satria Limited Edition And Satria R3 headlights and signals. They are black housing both. But then again, they are sick expensive like RM8XX for a set of brand new headlights and signals from the sparepart counter. The Taiwanese versions are either ala Altezza or crystalish or fully black entirely. I dont dig flashy kinds, prefer to stay suttle.

After the long wait, i decided to get a 2nd grade version whereby its not STANLEY brand just a replacement brand for those unlucky owners. Its the same, no STANLEY stampings and the signals only has black shades towards the headlight and not entirely. Its made in Malaysia incase if you are asking. So far no leaks and they shine good at night.

Total cost brand new headlights and signals are RM2XX plus delivery.

I saved RM600 and for something that hits stone chips on the highway daily, this is definitely bang-for-the-buck.

Rollcage Pix, As Promised

Ive been driving with the rollcage for couple of months already. I plan to keep it permanently. My car feels better and stiffer during launching and taking corners. I hear less cabin noises/squeeks compared to before.

Anyway, here are the pix. Click it to enlarge. If you dun like rollcages, u can try do auto-foaming like what my buddy Andrew did on his car. Its like JUN Auto Mechanic foams but cheaper.

The story about my rollcage is in the previous posts. The brand is UNKLE from Shinya Yamauchi Rallye 6-Point which is similar to SAFETY21, which i think it is SAFETY21. Its black and it came with rollpads. Its a no-through-dash model.

The good thing about 6-Point than 7-point is you dont have to tint ya back to be spotted by the authorities as 7-Point ones comes with the crossbar, also you gotta remove your sun visors to install rollcage in your car.

Since i have the R3 Sticker, it sticks nicely on the head bar.

Strap-On For Ladies .... And Men.

I've been surfing for days and prolly weeks checking out Takata harness and bucket seats online. I just have to put this pic up. It's KT-So on a Chargespeed SS bucket seat and Takata safety harness. Whatever it is, i just want those "tata" under the Takata, haha!

Latest price for Takata should be around RM1500.00. Too expensive for some FIA approved safety harness. Its a bloody JDM bling.

I'll think about it.

BILLION Super Thermo Checker thermostat sticker. It'll only look nice if you have an aluminium radiator. Good to know if you hit boiling point. NO!, you dont put in on your forehead when you have a fever. doh!.

How Big is Big?

The T04Z and T51R turbines side by side. They are meant for 6 cylinders or some overpowered monsters.

OMNIMAN All-Motor B16A 200whp DVD

With determination and alot of patience, i finally
managed to get a hold of this damn DVDs. I didnt
borrow it, instead i bought it brand new freshly baked
from the oven. Fucken-'el *relief*, dont mind the fouls
as ive been waiting for this day to come for a bloody
long time.

After what i have "heard" from other local comments,
i kept my views open and ordered the DVDs without having doubts.
Eventho there was another original copy nearby, but i wasnt
being offered to watch. Its okay to me, i understand that ppl
has their own reasons. Im not a begger anyways. I watched
the entire 6-hours DVDs and took note on all the tips and hints
that they were showing. I guessed what i "heard" is far-out
than what they have shown.

To be honest, i do not see any praying-mantis vs monkey
kong-foo secrets or some Bruce-Lee's Jeet Kune Do 3-inch
punch technique, but more on the ways of doing things right
for the first time and doing it step by step with technique.

The steps shown are actually for intermediate and advance
viewers, at least u must know how a piston looks like. For
beginners, it should be an enlightening show and may bore you
as the steps are bit long. Absorb what is good like a sponge.

The power made at the end of the day was 206.5whp. The parts
used were within the budget of a street modder. Eventho the
show wasnt a hollywood quality but they got the message right
where they want it to be. They wanted to show if anybody could
actually try and do it, try to do it the right way, try to work as a team
to achieve this mythical argument in the forums. Im no mechanic but
i can try.

I give double thumbs-up for these DVDs. I am sick and tired of reading
Helms and Haynes sometimes and for once i just wanna watch.
Honda-Tech is a good place and they should make DVDs out of it.

I think there are so many "small things" that ppl take for granted that
these DVDs are trying to explain. A tiny mod will eventually help other future
mods and reduce overhead for modders.

I respect for the effort they have accomplished. The figures are just
a bonus for them.

Kuala Lumpur International Motorshow 2006 (KLIMS06)

Went to KLIMS06 last weekend. It was jammed packed
with people plus the school holiday period and early of the
month weekend. It was like sardines in every damn hall.
Thanks to Bobo we got the tix in advance. Although i have
a non-sophisticated camera, i didnt bother to carry them
as i know it will take time to snap and have a good steady
hands when snapping especially when it comes to juicy ladies.

Again, it was a international motorshow, some people
didnt read the big print carefully as they thought its gonna be
some Hot Import Nights or a carbon copy of Tokyo
Auto Salon. Too much expectation these days that led
to dissapointments. I had my 2 hours fun. The cars
were alright, the ladies are fine and the food are expensive.

The arrangement of the booth needs alot of fix. PWTC is not
a good place to hold such function where you have to walk
across river to go to another hall. I think KL Convention Centre
would be a good place. If you like thin, slender, overmakeuped,
weightless model ladies, they were everywhere. Dont expect
tanned honey-caramel boobies and booties like Import Tuner
or DSport to be posing on the cars.

10 Tips for future event :
1) Try to go the first few days if possible. Working days
and within working hours. Take leave by all means.
2) Bring a minimum RM500.00 to buy original souvenirs.
Minimum i said. No ATM gyro can be found nearby.
3) Bring a videocam instead, zooming helps for you dirty
old-men, haha.
4) Have some meal before you go, everything is
double-triple at the event.
5) Be nice to the ladies and prolly u can get their number,
haha.
6) Wear shoes. Sandals and thongs are gonna hurt anything
more than 2 hours of standing and walking.
7) Wear casual and light or anything breathable.
8) Go in small packs of friend, too big is bad for over-excited
hormones.
9) Do not drive your modded car, prime time for car thieves
and jackers. Keep laptops at home for godsake.
10) Look and appreciate, if you are a keen buyer, ask them
to start the engine.
