Updates from AJ-Racing (J'sRacing Dist.)

I just got the email this afternoon and confirmed that my bar was a J'sRacing boot bar. I managed to check under the light last night and it was more of metallic dark bluish/black/green thingy.

This is what they replied :
"The older models were teal/turquiose color, the new ones from J's Racing are gold in color."

I tried to take some pix this morning and found out that i had to stand on a stool to be able to snap the whole damn bar. So i decided the pic of the bar from their website.

I will snap the bar once its in my car already.

Battle Of The Cleanest : Hizam's Evo

Louis CR-X made his debut for being Mr. Clean. So now the next guy inline is Hizam. I have inspected the car myself and yes, you can eat indo-mee on his valve cover. So there you go, all the pix that i took yesterday. Im using my Olympus Miu to take all these pix. So it aint National Geographic Magazine. Arigato.

[its not what branded parts you have in the car that makes the car shines out, its how you arrange the parts, colour codings, neatness and pesonal theme. some ppl may have the nicest toys and the most expensive but they look fugly due to the wrongly mix-match combination of parts]

C-Pillar Bar/Boot Bar

Yes, i fetish about bars in my car. My dream about having the boot bar started since the boys in HT made me bucket-drool and nose-bleed at work. So i started to search for one. I know its impossible to find one but if youre lucky u might get one, 2nd hand that is.

After months of waiting and a lot of patience, i managed to get a 2nd unit from a good friend. It came out from a Honda Civic Ek 2-door. After the long wait and also a good bargain, yes it fell from the skies. I nearly (i think the raya holiday was the ultimatum period) ordered a J'sRacing for RM500 direct from Japan through our local J'sRacing distributor. So be it, its a EK model and mine is a Proton Satria. What the heck? Yes it wont fit but you have to custom fit it.

From my findings, my bar could be from any brand. It can be from J'sRacing, Blood-R (Blood Sports), Sergeant, MAS or M&M Honda. I have yet to get clarification from J's Racing as rumoured said the end holders are not actually black. Im waiting for the results as we speak.

I guessed theres a company in Japan that made for few tuners. Well it doesnt matter as long it function as how it should be. It strengthens the boot portion since my back half is empty.

Brand : J'sRacing
How much brand new : RM500 with sticker (From Japan)
Where to buy : Pentagon, Kuala Lumpur

Mini Mods : Something is better than boring nothing

Walbro Fuel Pump 255L/hr

Ahh, finally i managed to install the Walbro fuel pump 255l/hr. The pathetic part about my Satria is the fuel tank has to drop off from the rear pan and then the fuel pump can be installed. Its not like those honda where u can remove the seats and unscrew the cover. At this moment, im very happy to hear the "whinning" bitching noise from my car. My mechanic thinks im going mad with the mods. My current RX-7 fuel pump is not dead just that i just wanna be sure its not in the process if dying especially when i have only 1 bloody car to go around. I just wanna accomodate my mods since its not going any slower.

How much brand new : RM 480-520, available in most aftermarket racing shops.
Installation time : According to my mech its 2 hours, but since im so lazy to wait, i left the damn car for 2 days. Haha.
Labour charges : Price may vary by tuner shops.
Other similar brands : 044 Bosch and Sard 265.

The Xtreme Nights 10-11 November 2006

http://www.thextremenights.com/home-1st.asp

Sometimes i think either they purposely do it or some bad planning. Saturday is the FINAL DRAG BATTLE which is on the 11th. So that means i have to go to Xtreme Nights on Friday itself.

Daily Driven Mr. Clean

Louis is a childhood friend of mine that has a hygienic obsession when it comes to engine bay cleanliness. He drives the car daily to work, rain or shine. He drives a converted EF-7 CR-X with EF-8 exterior and DA-6 engine. He has Mugen side skirts and rear bumper. The spoiler is some unknown brand but looks good to me. No Mugen front bumper sadly to say.

I have given Hizam a 10/10 when it comes to car-keeping but Louis is a 11/10 person. He has been spending so much time on Honda-Tech and looks like this JDM thingy has influenced him the right way. Its good when you have some guidance to modify your car cosmetically. Some people just really have bad taste seriously. They just do not know what to mix and match. I will give Louis prolly another year for his cosmetic completion. Budget and lack of parts is always the key factors. Sometimes when you feel lonely, the Ah-Beng syndrome will get into you and you start to put allot of rubbish in the car.

New 5Zigen 4-2-1 EK9 VS Used Integra Type-R 4-2-1

My brother bought the brand new 5Zigen extractor for around RM1600. Hand carried back from Ireland. The used ITR extractor was bought in SS-Racing earlier this year for RM350 with used sensor. The exhaust gasket is RM120 brand new.

Both extractors came with 2.5" collector. The weight of the 5Zigen is light around 5.5kg. The ITR is as heavy as an elephant.

Both looked the same length and size.

Note : CTR 98-99 and ITR 96-97 are using 4-2-1 extractors. Only 98-99-00 ITR uses 4-1

Too Low?

The fact the Tokico Edusa shocks with the RS-R springs made everything low and somehow the humpy road condition doesnt allow safe driving. Instead, we have fitted back the original DA6 shocks with Eibach Prokit.

Problem : RS-R springs too soft

Quick & cheap solution : Change everything

Lesson to be learned : Pay more and get coilovers

Rims : Before (Black Racing) & After (5Zigen)
